LONDON (October 1, 2021) - Square Enix Ltd. today announced DUNGEON ENCOUNTERS ™ as part of the live stream "SQUARE ENIX PRESENTS" at the Tokyo Games Show . The new single-player role-playing game with exciting dungeons will be released digitally on October 14, 2021 for Nintendo Switch ™, the PlayStation®4 console and for PC (Steam®).
 
DUNGEON ENCOUNTERS was developed under the direction of Hiroyuki Ito, a longtime contributor to the FINAL FANTASY series, and was developed by Hiroaki Kato ( FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE ™) produced. The title puts the strategic skills of the players to the test with 100 challenging levels. You move on a 2D grid and lead the expedition to explore the depths of an unusual maze. Players have to prepare to overcome numerous obstacles, win battles and defeat monsters in order to outsmart the clever game system and reach the lowest level of the dungeon. You have to be strategic in order to survive!

Players can look forward to a polished and refined interpretation of the classic ATB (Active Time Battle) system from the FINAL FANTASY series, which was devised by the developer of the original, Hiroyuki Ito. DUNGEON ENCOUNTERS offers a wide variety of characters inspired by fantasy and created by character designer Ryoma Ito. The game is a unique take on the "dungeon crawler" genre and gives players the option to customize their party to effectively face challenges and overcome obstacles. Fans can look forward to a soundtrack created under the direction of Musical Director Nobuo Uematsu, which features a modern take on classic tracks that take players through the many levels and trials ofDUNGEON ENCOUNTERS accompanies.
 
DUNGEON ENCOUNTERS will be available from October 14, 2021 in digital form for Nintendo Switch ™, the PlayStation®4 console and for PC (Steam®) and will be approved by the USK for ages 6 and up.
 
Pre-orders on Nintendo Switch ™ and Steam® are now possible and offer a 20% discount until the end of October *. DUNGEON ENCOUNTERS can be purchased from the PlayStation® Store from October 14th and is available for PlayStation Plus subscribers until October 28th ** with a 20% discount.
