LONDON (June 9, 2026) – During the latest Nintendo Direct showcase, SQUARE ENIX revealed new games, new trailers and new details about a wide variety of upcoming titles. The announcements include FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE, the very first HD-2D FINAL FANTASY game, and the KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III], 10 magical experiences bringing the story of the KINGDOM HEARTS series natively to Nintendo Switch 2 and additional consoles, as well as new trailers for upcoming games KINGDOM HEARTS IV, DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World and FINAL FANTASY XIV Online for Nintendo Switch 2.

FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE
The first HD-2D game in the FINAL FANTASY series, FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE is a celebration of classic and modern FINAL FANTASY that evokes the beloved titles of yesteryear.
This tale of Crystals features a strategic turn-based battle system with a modern twist, the return of chocobos, espers and airships, in addition to appearances from beloved FINAL FANTASY characters such as Cloud, Tidus and the Warrior of Light – all presented in stunning, retro-inspired HD-2D graphics that push the limits of pixel art.
FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE is based on the first story arc of the mobile game FINAL FANTASY Brave Exvius. Far from just a direct port, it has been refined and extensively rebuilt as a full-fledged console-quality RPG experience.

FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE launches on Oct. 22, 2026, on Nintendo Switch™ 2, Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®5, XBOX Series X|S and PC via Steam® and the Microsoft Store on Windows at a suggested retail price of £49.99. A Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, which features the base game plus useful in-game items will be available for £54.99. Finally, a Collector’s Edition of the game, which includes the base game and the Digital Deluxe Edition bonuses, as well as four unique physical items like an artbook, soundtrack and unique FINAL FANTASY TRADING CARD GAME promotional card, will retail for £189.99. KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III]

DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World
First revealed during SQUARE ENIX’s Dragon Quest Day celebration last month, DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World will head to Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S and PC via Steam and Windows on Dec. 3, 2026. The newest addition to the DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS series, DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World features a robust collection of more than 500 new and fan-favorite monsters, evolved graphics and an engaging narrative that follows dual protagonists Bianca and Nera as they embark on a journey to bring the world of Witherwood back to life. No experience with past DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS games is needed to dive into this monstrously fun new adventure.

KINGDOM HEARTS IV
A new installment in the action role-playing series developed and published by SQUARE ENIX, KINGDOM HEARTS IV follows protagonist Sora and some familiar characters as they journey through the mysterious city of Quadratum. Sora will once again journey to various worlds, where new figures cross his path and new powers awaken in this next chapter. KINGDOM HEARTS IV will launch for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S and PC. More details about the game will be revealed in the future.

FINAL FANTASY XIV Online
Announced recently during the FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival 2026 in Anaheim, the critically acclaimed FINAL FANTASY XIV is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in August 2026. The title will launch with approximately one month of early access to ensure server stability ahead of the start of official service.* The new trailer gives fans a sneak peek at the game running on Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of its release this summer.

FINAL FANTASY X | X-2 HD Remaster
Outside of the Nintendo Direct presentation, SQUARE ENIX also announced today that the HD remasters of classic RPGs FINAL FANTASY X and FINAL FANTASY X-2 are headed to Nintendo Switch 2 in one digital-exclusive package on July 23. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the original launch of FINAL FANTASY X in Japan, so this is the perfect opportunity for longtime fans and newcomers to experience two legendary entries in the FINAL FANTASY series at home or on the go.
To celebrate the anniversary, a new FINAL FANTASY X 25th Anniversary logo was illustrated by Tetsuya Nomura.
